Employees

The Board is aware of the importance of good relationships and communication with employees. Where appropriate, employees are consulted about matters which affect the progress of the Group and which are of interest and concern to them as employees.

Within this framework, emphasis is placed on developing greater awareness of the financial and economic factors which affect the performance of the Group. Employment policy and practices in the Group are based on non-discrimination and equal opportunity irrespective of age, race, religion, sex, colour and marital status. In particular, the Group recognises its responsibilities towards disabled persons and does not discriminate against them in terms of job offers, training of career development and prospects. If an existing employee were to become disabled during the course of employment, every practical effort would be made to retain the employee's services with whatever retraining is appropriate.
